Vincent’s “Greatest Hits”

Discussion section of Quantitative Data Analysis

The data presented reflects an abundant presence of combination languages; therefore, ethnolinguistic interactions potentially create combination languages. English and Spanish are languages that represent two large, distinct cultures: English users and Spanish users. Based on the data allotted, as interaction between members of the two cultures occurs, the concurrent languages are combined for intercultural communication creating combination languages. Due to the fact that the experiment presented in this paper was limited in regards to the extent in which ethnolinguistic interactions were recorded, the results should be indicative of further research as opposed to being declared a definite conclusion.

Extended Meaning Analysis of A road not Taken by Robert Frost

Extended Meaning: In this poem, the traveler could be anybody. Like all people in this world, the traveler is a person searching for meaning in their life. At some point in time everybody faces the need to make a choice. That choice is represented by the fork in the road. Whether we would like to admit it or not, when we make choices we are, to some degree, influenced by the world around us. Societal forces influence our decisions, this is represented by the traveler’s examination of each road. When the traveler considers returning to the fork in the road, he begins to doubt that possibility. With all choices made, regret is a possibility and curiosity is common. At times defeating society’s pressures can cause the praise of others. In the case of the traveler he stated he took the road less traveled, when in fact both roads were equally worn. When the traveler sighs he shows an understanding of his dishonesty. This exaggeration was probably caused by a desire to assume satisfaction for defeating society’s pressures. Like most people the traveler simply wanted praise, which is cause for his dishonesty.

Reflective Writing Assignment #13 Conclusion

The conclusion section of my paper is the section that I found to be the most challenging. I am believe that the claims I included were complex and interesting; however, I chose to use four sentences as opposed to five and I am concerned that I did not provide significant support for my claim. It is for those reasons I would give myself a 4 for this section. I also wanted to spend some time discussing the potentially subconscious nature of codeswitching; however, my data and the sentence limits would not allow me to properly develop that claim.
Within this section I was also concerned about my use of quantitative data. Being that this paper is titled a quantitative data analysis paper, analyzeing quantitative data is obviously an essential factor. I was able to discuss some quantitative data in the results section ; however, I feel I could have used some in the discussion section. To add more quantitative data I would have probably had to use a different graph which I believe would not have allowed me to develop a claim that I would find interesting. It is for that reason that I chose to sacrifice a large amount of quantitative data for a more interesting paper.

The purpose of this paper is to show the idea that people have different intelligences. The intelligences vary within in the person’s environment or their paradigm. A paradigm is a set of beliefs or assumptions that define the “reality”, or the values, of that particular group. The intelligences vary with each person. The intelligences are expressed in different places, depending on the person. Each person uses one intelligence more than the others. We, as a society, have progressed into using our intelligences together to help function in our daily lives. Without our intelligences helping us function, we wouldn’t be able to work, go to school, or even talk to our friends. This paper will show how intelligences function in a college class, specifically a college English class.

Abstract From Sociology Report

Coming up from a struggle to a success story seems like something that only happens in movies or in sports. However this isn’t the case. Every writer sees a low point in their career and it’s easy to bounce back and for others it isn’t. It wasn’t easy for me but these two artifacts have both shown how far I’ve came to achieve the literacy success I once had and now, I feel that if I continue on in what made everything click last semester, that my literacy success will continue and will have the necessary help along the way to learn from any struggle I may encounter and be the type of writer I hope to become one day.

A goal I used to set for myself was to become a perfect writer but throughout my literacy life I learned that perfection in writing doesn’t exist because each paper requires different a skills set. Learning to write is a process beginning with just the ability to write. For me it was writing the note I now notice so much about that note for one because I analyzed it for hours in the past few days but because the audience, my aunt recently passed away so I notice things about I wouldn’t usually if it wasn’t one of the few things I have left. Writing is just like anything else you only become better the more practice. When I think of life as a literacy journey I do not see an end or conclusion its life so therefore it’s a lifetime of constant writing whether it’s a note, letter or just a reminder to wash the dishes, you constantly learn new ways to write it.
